Mental Health
Chances are you either are dealing with mental illness, will deal with mental illness or will love someone who deals with mental illness. Jenny Lawson is a #1 NYT bestselling author known for her honest struggles with a plethora of disorders, including treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorder, inattentive ADHD, and OCD. But through it all she practices her art of being FURIOUSLY HAPPY…of celebrating every day that survived, creating more tools for her mental health toolbox, and helping others to know that they are not alone as they struggle. Her journey has saved lives, including her own.
Inspiring Leadership
Four years ago, NYT bestselling author Jenny Lawson opened a progressive independent bookshop in conservative Texas right before a pandemic. It should not have survived but it is currently one of the best and most successful indie bookshops in San Antonio, and Jenny loves sharing what worked and what she’s learned as a woman in leadership.
On Creating
Jenny Lawson has 4 NYT bestsellers so she knows about the incredible highs of creativity and also the challenges that come with writer’s block, lack of focus, imposter syndrome and working with criticism. She loves sharing the path that lead her to where she is while still being honest about the many roadblocks she’s overcome. From finding boundaries as a memoirist to dealing with negative reviews to silencing the voices in your head that say your voice doesn’t matter, Jenny provides an honest and inspiring message of the importance of creating art even when it’s hard. As she says, “Learn from my mistakes. Someone should.”

Praise for books by Jenny Lawson:
“Jenny made me laugh so hard I feared for my safety! I think that’s how she was able to get past my defenses and make me feel more okay about myself.”
— Allie Brosh, author of Hyperbole and a Half“You’ll laugh, wince, writhe in discomfort, cry, then laugh again. You might even feel the need to buy a raccoon. But the two things you’ll never do is doubt Jenny’s brilliance or her fearlessness when it comes to having honest discussions about mental illness, shame, and the power of human resilience. She’s changing the conversation one rented sloth at a time.”
— Brené Brown, Ph.D., LMSW, author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller, Daring Greatly“The Bloggess writes stuff that actually is laugh-out-loud, but you know that really you shouldn’t be laughing and probably you’ll go to hell for laughing, so maybe you shouldn’t read it. That would be safer and wiser.”
— Neil Gaiman“Even when I was funny, I wasn’t this funny.”
— Augusten Burroughs, author of Running with Scissors and This Is How“Lawson’s self-deprecating humor is not only gaspingly funny and wonderfully inappropriate; it allows her to speak…in a real and raw way.”
— O, The Oprah Magazine“[Lawson] writes with a rambling irreverence that makes you wish she were your best friend.”
— Entertainment Weekly
