Sarah Allen
Sarah Allen is the award-winning children’s and young adult author of What Stars Are Made Of, Breathing Underwater, The Nightmare House, and Monster Tree, along with several chapter books. Her books contain quirky, neurodiverse characters, STEAM elements, and a sense of finding Joy in the weirdest and most unlikely of places. Her books have been Jr. Library Guild selections, Whitney Award winners, A Mighty Girl Best Of pick, and state award winners. Sarah is an experienced keynote presenter and regularly teaches at writing conferences and presents at schools across the country.
Sarah has also published poetry and short fiction in magazines like The Evansville Review, Allegory, Cicada, and several anthologies. She writes scripts and animated stories for English Language Learners at LittleFox. Her published articles for kids appear in magazines like Ranger Rick.
Sarah Allen draws silly comics and writes silly songs. She spends her free time listening to showtunes and watching David Attenborough documentaries. She lives in Orlando with her two cats, Morticia and Timicin. You can find her online on her website and follow along with her newsletter.
