Dr. Howard E. Wasdin is a former SEAL Team Six member. After graduating with BUD/S Class 143 he was a top sniper on SEAL Team Six. He was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart for his involvement in the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 known as Black Hawk Down. In that conflict he was wounded three times and nearly lost a leg. Howard served in the US Navy for twelve years before retiring due to injuries sustained in Somalia. He now lives in Georgia, where he is a practicing chiropractor and a leader in his community. He has been awarded an Honor and induction into The Jeremiah Milbank Society by the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America. This award was given for his contributions and making a difference at the Boys and Girls Club in his hometown.
In addition to treating more than 150 patients a week in his chiropractic clinic, Dr. Wasdin is a professional speaker and presents nationally on many topics including motivational, team-building, leadership, and overcoming adversity.
Howard has spoken for many organizations and corporations including, The American Chiropractic Association, Boy Scouts of America, Calvary Church, Cattlemen’s Association, Far West Equipment Dealers Association, Federal Court Advisory Committee for the District of Georgia, GE/Microsoft, GST Transport Systems/USAO, Member One Federal Credit Union, Palmer Chiropractic College and more.
Howard is co-author of SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy Seal Sniper, a New York Times bestselling book for 22 weeks with 16 languages currently in print. The Young Adult edition of his first book, I Am a SEAL Team Six Warrior has been officially nominated for Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2013 Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers List. His most recent book, The Last Rescue: How Faith and Love Saved a Navy SEAL Sniper was published in 2014, and he has also co-authored the fictional series titled, SEAL Team Six Outcasts.
As an experienced warrior in Tactical Counter Terrorism, Howard also has made countless appearances on the topic on such television shows as America’s Book of Secrets, CBS News, CSPAN, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Fox and Friends, History Channel, Sean Hannity and Reader’s Digest. In addition to Time Magazine he has also done radio interviews on many stations to include CBS, WIND-FM, (WRKI) in CT and NY, and Wall Street Journal Digital Network.
