Stephen Michael Shearer wrote his first screenplay, Hellen and Ellen in the Wilderness, when he was just 10 years old, and was a featured lecturer on library research on local radio. A child of many talents, Shearer was the editor of his high school’s newspaper as well as an All-State musician, and continuing on in college to study voice, cello, bass, baritone, and French horn.


Shearer has acted professionally on television on Dallas and Central Park West, and in such films as Split Image, Hand Gun, The Cotton Club, Flying By, and has appeared recently in such documentaries as The Green Girl. On stage in New York, he starred in the Samuel French Award-winning off-Broadway production, The Appointment (National Home Theater).


Shearer has lectured on film around the country at film festivals, various book venues, and universities. He has also written for The Las Vegas Review-Journal, and has contributed film research to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in Los Angeles.
