BIO

John Hoover, PhD is a former executive with Walt Disney Productions and McGraw-Hill as well as a best selling business author. His book Bullwinkle on Business: Motivational Secrets of a Chief Executive Moose uses the characters of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show to speak out for organizational excellence in the free enterprise system.

 

For more than 15 years, John has helped his clients grow and prosper with organizational transformation, organization development and behavioral change, leadership and team development, and sustaining change through effective internal and external communications.

 

Dr. Hoover’s expertise in interpersonal and mass communications makes him extraordinarily effective at resolving conflicts by identifying common languages and interests among opposing parties.  His organizational consulting over the years includes organizational transformation, organization development, and organizational behavior.  He works with individuals and teams, and produces a wide variety of media to support and sustain change, making it possible for transformation to achieve traction.

 

John has facilitated Board of Directors retreats and has experience as a consultant and coach to C-level executives and Board members in the private sector, academia, and not-for-profit social service agencies.  His experience and educational specialization in organizational behavior and design uniquely positions him to coach key policy makers in making vital operational and organizational decisions that unleash the full talent potential of their organizational populations.  Always stressing effective communication strategies, John helps executives to map their cultures, career paths, and to see and fully appreciate the internal landscapes of their enterprises as well as the dynamic and volatile nature of the marketplace.

 

John’s psychological background combines with tactical business experience to transform strategy into action.

 

In addition to his coaching and consulting, John is a recognized thought leader and author.  He frequently delivers workshops and keynote speeches for clients.  As an author of more than a dozen books on leadership, individual and organizational performance, and personal and professional relationships (some with a decidedly humorous edge), John has appeared on NBC’s TODAY, the FOX News Channel, ABC Now, Forbes.com, National Public Radio, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, USA Today, and dozens of other print, radio, and television interviews across the United States and in a dozen other countries.

Dr. Hoover has taught and lectured as adjunct faculty at Aquinas College, Cal State Fullerton, College of the Desert, Fielding Graduate University, Middle Tennessee State University, and Vanderbilt University.  He is currently on the faculty of the American Management Association.
