Dr. Robin Zasio, Psy. D., LCSW, is a featured doctor on the Emmy-nominated A&E hit series Hoarders, the host of Animal Planet’s My Extreme Animal Phobia, and the author of The Hoarder in You: How to Live a Happier, Healthier, Uncluttered Life. A licensed clinical psychologist and a licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Zasio has specialized in treating anxiety and related disorders for the past 20 years utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention techniques. Dr. Zasio has been speaking at professional conferences for 15 years on anxiety and related conditions, and is asked to speak regularly for many network shows including the Today show, Good Day New York, Good Day Sacramento, and HLN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell. She has been a guest expert on The Nate Berkus Show and The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and has done numerous interviews for magazines and newspapers all over the country.After developing a thriving private practice, she founded The Anxiety Treatment Center of Sacramento in 2005, and more recently, The Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center, and The Compulsive Hoarding Center, all located in Sacramento, CA. She was also the co-creator of The Anxiety Treatment Center of Northern California, and the owner and operator of two mental health recovery homes.
Dr. Zasio continues to maintain her private practice providing individual, group and family therapy services, in addition to supervising interns who are learning to treat anxiety disorders. She is the President of the OCD Sacramento Foundation, Inc., and has served as the President of the Sacramento Valley Psychological Association, currently remaining on the board as their Continuing Education Chair and Media Representative. She also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board and the Clinical Advisory Board for the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, and is a faculty member for their Behavior Therapy Training Institute. She writes a monthly “Doctor’s Column” for the Sacramento Chapter of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill and is a member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, American Psychological Association, Trichotillomania Learning Center, and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
